Check out the drawing that Christopher created for his brother's Christmas present!  Pretty good stuff.  Great to see that he's still enjoying school, and obviously picking up some skills along the way!!



Deb and I need to apologize to Chris for making his past 36 hours a nightmare.

Chris was scheduled to leave St. Thomas on a 2:55 flight on New Years Eve.  Not the best scheduling from a New Years point of view, but we wanted to get him home with a full day between arrival and the start of school.

He suggested getting to the airport at about noon.  We told him he had plenty of time for lunch with us!!  Guess what?  He was right.  We sent him off to the airport with just over an hour to spare.  It's a small airport and who was going to travel on New Years Eve anyway??  Well, it turns out the airport is a bit larger these days, and LOTS of people travel on New Years Eve.  Chris got to the airport, got stuck in a very long and slow security line and missed his flight!!  Ugh.

Deb got on the phone, talked to a supervisor and got Chris scheduled on the 4pm flight which still left him time to make his original connection in Miami.  Problem solved....

Well, unfortunately, not quite.  American Airlines canceled Chris' entire flight plan when he missed his first flight.  (Shouldn't the previously mentioned Supervisor have known this???)  So, Chris got to Miami and found out that his connection flight was full and he had been rescheduled to a flight at 7am the NEXT morning!!!!  No hotel offer, no nothing!!!  Chris had to sleep at the airport, and the last we heard from him he was getting ready to board his flight.  This one took him to Houston, from where we hope he caught a quick connections to SF.  Then a BART ride from the airport to Berkeley, and a cab ride home.

Sounds miserable, and I'm sure it was. 

Oh, did I mention that his food was late coming out of the kitchen for lunch, so after waiting for it for about 30 minutes he had to leave without eating????

Sorry Chris, you were right.  We should have sent you to the airport at Noon....  We owe you one!
