I don't think so

Pending a French translation, I think we will be giving this place a very wide berth!

Perfect kiteboarding beach...

So Jim and I are both happy.

After a 1.5 hour bus ride, where all the old guys on the bus tell the driver how to drive, when to pull out, etc., which was actually great fun and $2, Jim and I ended up at Orient Beach in French St.Martin. The kiting and wind are great, and it's French (read topless) so Jim is happy. I am happy because they have restaurants on the beach with internet, shade, food, beer, and it's French (read they allow dogs!)

All good here!

One more

Wow!

Size Matters

On this dock, 100ft goes unnoticed. 200 ft now some slow down to look but still you are second class. Now 300 ft and you have everyone's attention.

It is unreal how many of these huge boats are here!!!

BVI to St. Martin

We moved!!

Yes, that's right after the better part of two months we have left the Virgin Islands and returned to St. Martin. It's not without doubts that we do this. Over time, we've developed a philosophy where "if you've found what you've been looking for, then why leave?" is the guide to our planning. The San Blas Islands near the Panama Canal, Grand Cayman, Newport, RI, and now the Virgin Islands all fit that rule. They are all great, and we'll just have to hope we find some similarly fantastic places as we continue to explore.

Simpson Bay, St. Martin is a fantastic place. But, for very different reasons. It's crowded, and it's developed. But, in this case, that means one of the greatest collections of very very large yachts that we've ever crossed paths with. Winter brings them South, and the facilities and repair capabilities here in Simpson Bay pull them in.

If "yacht watching" is your thing, this is your place!!

We've managed to take advantage of...
- two large ships chandeliers. Both about the size of a large West Marine Store.
- a sail loft
- a specialty hardware fastener store for some metric screws.
- a refrigeration specialist
- a nice grocery store.
- a machine shop/rigger
and we've only been here for a day and a half!!

Looks like plenty to keep us busy for a week or so, then I'm home for a week and once I return we have guests scheduled to visit through the early part of March!

All's good here, hope to see everyone soon,

-Jim

Got a bit bored, started messing around, and threw this together.  Think I got a bit carried away with the transitions, but hey....you can sure see just how clean the water is here, and that was my point!

Enjoy?

Leverick Bay BBQ Night

Better??

I got into a bit of trouble last night posting a picture of Deb that she didn't like.  Hopefully, this will get me back in her good graces!!

Last night we took the dinghy over to Leverick Bay for their Friday evening BBQ and Party.  Live music and entertainment.  Lot's of fun....
