Morpheus was designed by Carl Schumacher, built by Davie Norris Boatbuilders in New Zealand and launched in 2002. She spent her first 18 months cruising the South Pacific before reaching her home port of San Francisco. Since that time, Morpheus has been raced and cruised extensively. This blog will document her ongoing adventures.

Island Tour - Paynes Dock
Chris is out fishing with skipper now, and they will be picking Deb up later to watch the racing (if there is any)
BTW - I hope its the economy, but this place feels very very empty this year. Champlins for example has empty spots at the dock. I feer that there may be something else at work here. So many boats are mass produced one designs that we see everywhere we sail. The boat show aspect is almost totally lacking, and that makes the event seem less special than it has in the past. I suspect that STC needs to come up with some new ideas in order to make this a "must do" event for some of the custom boat programs.
More later from the boat!

Good 2nd race in about 18 knots of wind. 5th??
Now in postponement after two starts that ended with boats over early
and rc hoisting AP at the start?? Why not just recall the boats over
and let us race?? And why the postponement rather than a general
recall???

RYC Spring Tune-Up

The Boat

The Bouy!

The skippers and crew of 35 Richmond Yacht Club boats were greeted by perfect sailing conditions yesterday for the first race of our 2009 four race intra club series. Winds ranged from 0 to almost 20 knots and we think we saw every possible wind direction during the race.
Great time had by all!!

Pacific Cup '08 - Coverage of Morpheus Delivery from Hawaii
As most of you know, while onboard Morpheus I can only send text based updates to the blog. Normally, I'd get home after a trip and update most of the blog postings from that trip with photo's, video, etc.
Well, this time I managed to convince Mike Wallach that we should compete to see who can update his blog with the most interesting "multi media" content. This was sort of a head fake that Mike played right into.
You see, I knew Mike would do a fantastic job on his blog.
So, now all I need to do is give you the link to his entries and I've saved myself all kinds of work!!
For details on our trip home go to ....http://eatarf242.blogspot.com/search/label/Morpheus
Enjoy!!
