Morpheus was designed by Carl Schumacher, built by Davie Norris Boatbuilders in New Zealand and launched in 2002. She spent her first 18 months cruising the South Pacific before reaching her home port of San Francisco. Since that time, Morpheus has been raced and cruised extensively. This blog will document her ongoing adventures.

Half a World Away
Yesterday, Debbie and I sailed Morpheus over the Greenwich Meridian. The Greenwich Meridian, or the Prime Meridian, is Longitude's answer to Latitude's "equator". Check out the link above for more info.
But...the most interesting thing from our part is that this places us almost EXACTLY half way around the World from where Morpheus was built and first launched in Christchurch, NZ.
We've sailed enough miles to circle the globe about three times by now, but this is the first time that we've actually been half way based on Longitude.
